Clinical Intern Therapist

Layla Hakim

I believe relationships can provide the immense healing that we all deserve.

Hello, I’m Layla.

Relationships are one of the most meaningful yet complex aspects of our lives. I am passionate about helping partners foster deeper emotional connections, improve communication, and navigate challenges with understanding and care. Whether you’re facing recurring conflicts, struggling with trust, or simply feeling disconnected, I provide a compassionate and supportive space where both partners feel heard and valued.

I work with couples who want to repair broken bonds or strengthen their connection even more. I help those trying to expand their family, are considering fertility treatments or adoption, or those grieving the loss of a pregnancy or child.

Whether you are struggling with individual challenges, relationship conflicts, or family dynamics, I am here to provide support and guidance every step of the way. Together, we can work towards creating positive changes, fostering deeper connections, and promoting overall well-being for you and your loved ones.

My background & approach

As your therapist, I am person-centered, trauma-informed, and attentive. I see individuals, couples, and families.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, working alongside clients to develop personalized goals and strategies for growth and healing. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). and experiential-based interventions. This means in sessions, we will learn and practice skills that enable us to relate to ourselves and our loved ones in a new way. I used Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples break negative cycles and cultivate a more secure and fulfilling bond.

I’m currently completing the final months of my Masters of Science Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Seattle Pacific University. I completed my undergraduate education in Canada, and in my free time enjoy traveling, baking, and reading.
